WK – USB Overheating Protection

 

  • When the smart phones are charging in full speed, there is a very high current generated from the chargers, and this induces a lot of heat inside the charger.
  • There is a risk that in high temperature, the electronic components can be damaged, hence WK USB system is implemented with an Over-Heating Protection.
  • WK USB system will automatically cut-off power to protect from overheating, and will resume back to normal when the USB system is cool down.

  • The European Union published its Code of Conduct (CoC) on Energy Efficiency of External Power Supplies in October 2013.
  • CoC VI (Tier 1) was effective as a voluntary requirement from January 2014 but expected to become mandated as EU Ecodesign rule from January 2017.
  • The much more tougher CoC VI (Tier 2) requirement was effective on a voluntary basis from January 2016 and is similarly expected to become mandatory as an EU Ecodesign rule from January 2018.
  • This ensures the safety of the chargers, the smart phones, and yourselves.
